ABSTRACT PAINTING
ABSTRACT GEOMETRIC / FRAMMENTI DI MEMORIA PROJECT. I'm interested in images, fragments of images and how these interact with each other create new perceptions. My paintings come to life on different surfaces, jute cotton, paper, mostly natural materials. Mine is an abstract and personal look at things and about the world. In ABSTRACT GEOMETRIC / FRAGMENTS OF MEMORY abstractionism allows me not to set limits, just as thoughts and emotions cross the mind, so colors, geometries and frayed borders come to life on the canvas. There is no real beginning or even an end, it's a matter of following and materializing what is intangible. The series of paintings was born in the period between 2022 and 2023 and brings with it the flavor and memories of my living experience in Cape Town. I am fascinated by imperfections, by that "exotic", dusty and raw aspect of everything that surrounds me. The research I carry out is always a dialogue between two opposing forces that characterize me, one that gets lost in the chaos of things and the other that tries to establish a direction making sense.
